CHALLENGES: A broken and inefficient block with buildings at the end of their life cycle. Creating new functional connections to the urban structure, adapting the scale to the surrounding buildings of varying heights, and providing functional parking.
Solution: Structural alternatives were produced through traffic, urban space, view, and parking analyses. The solution aims to create a car-free and noise-free residential environment in the heart of the city. It also includes creating a pedestrian connection between the Aalto Center and the travel center. The solution involves structural parking and green roofs.
